What 19.2K gold is worth and how dealers price it
19.2K (Portuguese 800 gold) is 80% gold and is the legal jewellery standard in Portugal. It is known for the fine filigree work of the Minho region, including Viana hearts.
Look for the hallmark 800 or 19.2K. 19.2K is typical of traditional Portuguese filigree jewellery. Filigree is light for its size, so the weight of a large-looking Viana heart may be only a few grams. Collectable filigree can be worth more intact than melted.
Dealers weigh the piece, deduct stones and non-gold parts, and multiply the net weight by 0.8 to get the fine gold content. They then multiply by the DKK spot price per gram and apply their payout percentage — usually 60–75% of melt at shops and pawnbrokers, 80–90% at specialist buyers.
